Who I Am
I believe that there are certain things in life that build character, and other things that reveal it. There are precious few things that will allow you to do both. For me, it has been the ability to work with dogs that has both humbled me, and shown me who I really am. It was never an easy road.
One day I was faced with a decision. I could either accept a job offer that would give me job security for the next 25 years, with a pension on the other end. Or, I could follow a dream.
I gave up everything I had to move to Calgary and learn from one of the most acclaimed dog trainers and educators in the world. As a mentor and a friend there is no better person to have in your corner then Brad Pattison. Becoming certified to train and educate under Brad has allowed me to draw on his nearly 20 years of experience and endless knowledge of dog behaviour to apply them in my own training.
The best part about everything I’ve learned? I am now able to give something to my dog Toby that I never could have before. I am able to communicate with her in a way she can understand… through body language. We look out for one another and have a friendship that is unparalleled. I have the unique opportunity to learn from my dog each and every day and make sure that her needs are being met. In turn, I am able to hold her to the highest standard possible.
My goal is to take what I’ve learned and use it to teach you how to get a better understanding of who your dog is and what their needs are. I want to help you create a foundation of respect that will translate to a bond that really is beyond anything you thought possible. I don’t want to just get clients; I want to cultivate relationships that last a lifetime.
